TRUMP: NFL Athletes Must ‘STAND PROUDLY’ for the US Anthem
President Trump weighed-in Wednesday on the NFL’s recent decision to ban on-field demonstrations; effectively ending a two-year protest that saw their star athletes kneeling during the US national anthem.
The President was speaking with Fox News after an immigration round-table on Long Island, New York when he was asked to comment on the league’s new rules; adding the NFL “did the right thing.”

“The owners have voted unanimously to approve a new national anthem rule that says if you’re not going to stand you have to stay in the locker room. If you go to the field, you have to stand. What’s your reaction?” asked Fox.
“You have to stand proudly for the National Anthem,” said Trump. “You shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe they shouldn’t be in the country. You have to stand proudly for the national anthem and the NFL owners did the right thing.”
