Some of you (likely few) know Jacob Collier. My guess is the young man is a musical savant. Regardless, when we realized my show could not go on this morning due to technical issues which we could not harness and fix in time, I just sat in my studio and did some busy work.
I also wandered around YouTube.
This popped up in my feed and I found it fascinating, entertaining, and magical.
Performing with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Collier just took something in his head (and he clearly had performed elsewhere) and improvised with the musicians. They did not know what was coming and you could see the sheer delight in their faces.
He also created a massive choir out of the audience.
Best as I can tell from this one video, Jacob Collier is not a singer, though he likes to sing ... he seems to be a musical genius and that is enough. Enough for you to really enjoy ,,, with the entire family.
