In my next submission for home-school parents (and their charges) I have selected this short piece from Hillsdale College ... "Were our Founders Really Christian?"
I am choosing shorter videos to stimulate research and discussion. It's a subject I have spent a good bit of time on and major universities have done studies on the subject of the faith of the Founding Fathers.
This video is a wonderful summary.
In closing I will offer this argument on what has happened in recent decades with the debate of "the separation of church and state." While this video touches on the subject, I want to advance this thought, which is supported by the 1st Amendment ... Acknowledging a religion does not establish it.
We have "In God We Trust" on our coins and best I can tell, it has yet to force anyone to adopt Jesus as Lord and Savior. Christianity should be, must be, acknowledged as the basis of our nation. As John Adams said (paraphrased), the U.S. Constitution is inadequate to govern any but a moral, religious people.
Perhaps, Adams' assertion explains what is happening in our nation and why.
