Where do I begin?
How about with my dad, Ray Scott (name the national sportcasting hall of fame and he's in it ... in fact, he's likely in three or four different state broadcasting halls as well). Dad did some big events in his day. He was the play-by-play voice of the famous "Ice Bowl" between the Green bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, the first two Super Bowls for CBS, four in all. World Series? Yep, that, too. He had a wonderful career.
Once, I asked him ... "Of all of the events you have called, what is your favorite?"
His answer did not surprise me one bit. He offered two words and a smile.
"The Masters."
Even if you do not like golf, the event offers an incredible display of landscaping beauty you might not see anywhere else in the world. It carries with it the hospitality of the south where fans are "patrons" and where concessions are so remarkably inexpensive it actually causes first timers a level of astonishment.
As we begin Masters Week, I want to begin with an inside look at the food & beverages on the Hallowed Grounds of Augusta National.
