Lia "Dude" Thomas. We all know his story. He is parading around as an elite female swimmer when HE is an average male swimmer with a mssive need for victories. So much so he is willing to humiliate himself by competing as a woman and daring any athletic governing body to do anything about it.
All teams needed to do to bring to an end, because the NCAA lacked the courage to deal with the issue, was jump out of the pool when he competed. It is flatly unfair. I won't debate the issue because no matter how long a guy has been taking shots, etc. he still maintains a biological edge. It's "settled science.
Prior to Lia becoming a story there were a couple of guys who chose to compete in Connecticut high school track as girls. Last time I checked, some actual girls lost state titles and college scholarships as a result.
Now we come to the story a guy competing in high school girls volleyball in North Carolina. The story details how this dude, maybe his coaches, actually put together a highlight reel for recruiting. His recruiting and I guess for some women's volleyball program so desperate for wins they'll take a guy on the team parading as a gal to help.
This young man actually hurt, severely, another player with a spike to the face. It should be noted that in girl's volleyball the net is lower than boys. This borders on being criminal.
It's in his "highlight" reel which tells you everything.
Shame on the coach and the school allowing it. Shame on governing bodies which are allowing it. Kudos to the school districts which have cancelled, forfeited, and will not play against this team because of the danger it poses to their real, biological girls.
When will this be stopped?
