We're Going Down! - A.F. Branco

I described it the other day on the show. The image I have of President Joe Biden.

It comes from the final minutes of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" where Ryan, the youngest of four brothers fighting in WWII (and at this point the only surviving sibling), is being saved by Capt. John Miller and his men. This small unit was sent with the expressed purpose of bringing Ryan safely back from the front lines so he can go home to his, now grieving, mother in Iowa.

It is the climatic scene where Ryan is huddled behind a wall as German gun fire, grenades, shells rain down all around him. He is in a fetal position screaming.

THAT is my image of Joe right this moment. His weakness - mentally, physically, spiritually - is being revealed in every area of policy. From foreign policy (which has led to a literal explosion in conflict around the world) to domestic issues. He doesn't know what to do. His seated with his knees drawn close to his chest and he is crying and whaling uncontrollably. The explosions is America and the world blowing up.

Meanwhile those around him, who want it this way, who want a weakened America eventually destroyed and rendered irrelevant, are cloistered together hoping to survive in office just long enough to see it happen. The image by Branco draws it out. The plane is going down.

From A.F. Branco's website we use the drawing with full expressed permission.
