Gillette seems to have a problem with its key demographic.
It's not smart to suggest the men who buy your products that they are all bullies, gender bigots, and worse. But that is what Gillette did with it's new ad campaign. The ideas it is promoting are not bad ideas, however the way it has gone about messaging is misguided...and offensive.
Long before this PR faux pas Allie Stuckey (a very bright young lady) offered some thoughts on the subject of "toxic masculinity."
BTW: It is now officially wrong to be a man.
