New Port Richey Man Dies After Alleged Acid Attack At Home

New Port Richey, FL - A man has died after allegedly being attacked with acid while he slept in a New Port Richey residence.

Police say officers were called to the 4500 block of Slippery Rock Road on August 21st following a 911 call from 50-year-old Chuanying He.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside the home with severe chemical burns.

Emergency responders airlifted the man to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to the police report, He allegedly poured acid on the victim while he was in bed and then barricaded the bedroom door before contacting authorities.

Investigators have described the attack as a domestic incident, though they have not released details regarding the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

The suspect now faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery causing serious bodily injury.

Police say the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault is ongoing.
