North Miami, FL - A shocking armed robbery at a North Miami Checkers unfolded in under 30 seconds after a man allegedly forced his way through the drive-thru window with a shotgun.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on February 13th at the Checkers on Northwest 37th Avenue.
According to police and surveillance footage, the suspect approached the drive-thru in an SUV, placed a food order, and when a worker handed it to him, he exited the vehicle brandishing a shotgun.
The video shows the employee fleeing as the suspect hoisted himself through the window and entered the restaurant.
Once inside, the suspect allegedly made his way to the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of money before climbing back out and fleeing the scene in his car.
Two other employees managed to hide in a back room and were unharmed.
Authorities arrested the suspect on May 1st in unincorporated Westview, Miami-Dade County.
He now faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, armed burglary, possession of cocaine, grand theft auto, and carrying a concealed firearm while being in the country unlawfully.
He is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Court records indicate the suspect allegedly confessed during questioning.
A judge has denied bond, citing public safety concerns.
Investigators continue to explore whether the suspect is connected to other crimes.
