For Protecting the Palm Beaches, we get an update on the renovations being made at the Village of Palm Springs Police Department.
"We're adding another building onto our building and it's going to be connected in the front. We're doubling the size of the PD."
Police Chief Tom Ceccarelli speaking with us as they were demolishing his office to build a new one.
The agency is going from 14,000 square feet to 28,000.
The chief says that often times with government buildings going up based on limited funding, they get outzied pretty quickly and that's what happened in Palm Springs. But he says this new addition will have benefits for members of the community.
"One of the nice things we're going to have is adding a community training room, which is going to be right off our lobby. So we can have community events here. We can have community meetings with the public. So it will be an opportunity for the community to come in and meet with us in a much nicer environment here in a well-suited facility."
He expects the work to be completed before Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, speaking of community events there's another one of those happening on Monday.
The Palm Springs Police Department is hosting another "Coffee With a Cop" event at Starbucks.
"It's basically an opportunity for the public to come out and meet us, talk in a more friendly environment, discuss whatever they want to discuss. It's a good opportunity just for the public to talk to an officer and it's a good environment, or a friendly environment."
Chief Ceccarelli says it's happening at the Starbucks on Forest Hill Boulevard, just east of Military Trail.
"Coffee With a Cop" will run from 9 to 11 a.m.
