Miami City Commissioners Taking Up Term Limits Today

After a delay, Miami Commissioners are expected to vote on a proposal limiting an elected official to two terms as mayor and two as city commissioner. Commissioner Damian Pardo says the way it works now you have term limits of eight years. This change would require a tweak in the city charter so voters would have the final say in November. If approved, this could invalidate the victory of a candidate who has already served the maximum time.
