Man Injured in Fatal ATV Crash Involving Mailbox, Fire Hydrant, Car

Orange County, FL - An Orlando man died after losing control of his ATV, hitting a mailbox, fire hydrant, and parked car, and was not wearing a helmet.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) identified the victim as a 48-year-old Orlando resident.

The incident occurred around 3:05 pm on Bryson Drive north of Harwick Drive.

According to FHP troopers, the man was traveling northbound when he lost control of the ATV, veering off the roadway.

The ATV struck a mailbox and fire hydrant before colliding with a parked Kia Forte in a nearby yard.

Tragically, the man was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the vehicle during the impact.

He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safe ATV operation and the necessity of wearing proper safety gear, including a helmet.

The FHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
