Lauderdale Lakes, FL - A Lauderhill man is facing robbery and kidnapping charges after allegedly assaulting a man he met on Instagram for sex.
Authorities say Tetric Jones was arrested on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping after allegedly assaulting the victim after meeting him on Instagram.
According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO), the victim agreed to meet Jones for sex in exchange for $300.
The two arranged to meet at an apartment complex on Thursday, and upon arrival, the victim was instructed by Jones to "follow me."
The victim became apprehensive and attempted to return to his car, but Jones allegedly grabbed the victim by his hair and shirt and forced him towards a nearby apartment.
Police say a violent assault occurred inside the apartment, with Jones punching and choking the victim.
Jones allegedly deployed pepper spray before stealing the victim's purse, containing $1,000 in cash.
The victim managed to escape and seek refuge in a neighboring apartment where he contacted authorities.
The victim identified Jones in a photo lineup, leading to his apprehension.
Authorities say Jones was on felony probation at the time the alleged crimes occurred.
He is currently being held without bond at the North Broward Bureau jail.
