The Florida Fair Elections Coalition (FFEC) held a virtual event today, "Elections Unveiled: Media Briefing on Florida's Presidential Primary & Voter List Maintenance."

The discussion was geared toward understanding Florida’s electoral process, threats to the process, and to combat rampant disinformation surrounding elections.

As we approach the March 19th presidential preference primary election the FFEC wants to make sure voters are aware of potential election issues and new laws so that every vote counts.

New Florida laws passed since the last general election in 2020 carry important changes for 2024 voters especially those voting-by-mail.

SB-90 in 2021 cancelled all standing vote-by-mail ballot requests as of Dec. 31, 2022. Now voters must submit a new vote-by-mail ballot request after each federal general election.

Also, no longer can a married couple place both their mail-in-ballots in the same envelope. The new law requires one, signed ballot per envelope be returned.

If you would like to check your voter eligibility or if you want to check the status of a mail-in ballot, go to your county's supervisor of elections website.
