A man is hospitalized after behind shot by a Miami Police officer near Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Officer Rafael Horta says it started this morning when they got a call about a violent dispute between two men. When officers arrived, they found a suspect with a knife.
That's when "one officer did discharge his firearm, striking the subject, and he ran toward JMH where we apprehended him, and then he was able to be taken to get aid at that time," says Horta.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is taking over of the investigation.
Patients still have access to the hospital if needed.
