Miami Beach, FL - A 34-year-old father has been arrested for the second time in two years on child neglect charges after leaving his four-year-old son unattended in a car.
Police say Osman Karatas, of Miami Beach, faces charges of child neglect after a witness observed Karatas leaving his son alone in a parked car with the engine off and keys in the ignition on February 21st.
The witness alerted authorities, who investigated the incident and arrested Karatas on child neglect charges.
Wednesday’s arrest marks the second time Karatas has faced similar charges in the past two years.
In July of 2022, authorities charged Karatas and his wife with child neglect after they allegedly left their son unattended while drinking at a Miami Beach bar.
Karatas’ current charges include child neglect without great bodily harm, leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle, and driving without a valid license
