Federal Investigators Head To Deadly Everglades Plane Crash Site

NTSB and Federal Aviation Administration investigators are expected in the area today where two men were killed after a plane crash in Broward County.

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk was found yesterday in the Everglades off I-75 near Weston after having reportedly gone missing late Tuesday afternoon. Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue Captain Michael Kane said they were not notified until Wednesday morning when they immediately assigned air boat crews to search the area. The discovery of the plane debris and the victims' bodies confirmed around mile marker 28.

It reportedly went down Tuesday night less than 15 minutes after takeoff from North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines.
