BSO: Woman Severely Injured During Daylight Stabbing in Pompano Beach

Broward Sheriff's Office Detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating an individual involved in a brutal attack in Pompano Beach.

Investigators say the crime occurred around 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, near the 300 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Deputies responded to a report of an aggravated battery. They located a woman suffering from a stab wound and multiple broken bones. Deputies immediately rendered aid until Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital.

Surveillance video of the incident shows a man arriving in the area in a silver Chevrolet Traverse. The victim was walking eastbound on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard crossing Northwest Third Avenue. As the victim crossed Northwest Third Avenue, the male subject can be seen running southbound on Northwest Third Avenue approaching the victim from behind. Police say he then stabbed and beat the victim. After the assault, the attacker fled westbound on Northwest Fourth Street in his vehicle. The victim walked to a nearby business and called police.

The male subject was wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, tennis shoes, a New York Yankees hat and glasses.
