Undercover Operation Exposes Miami Spa Owner Running Prostitution Ring

Miami, FL - A Miami woman has been arrested for operating a spa as a front for prostitution.

Miami detectives arrested 54-year-old Indiana Bustamante, who is suspected of operating a spa as a front for prostitution activities.

Bustamante faces several charges of deriving support from proceeds of prostitution, maintaining a house for prostitution, renting a space for the use of prostitution, and unlawful use of a communication device.

An investigation into Bustamante began when authorities observed multiple women leaving Divas Spa, located at 3939 NW Seventh St. in Miami, and approaching Bustamante's parked vehicle during the night.

Detectives initiated surveillance on Bustamante, and their suspicions grew stronger when they discovered an advertisement on an escort and prostitution website, linked to a phone number associated with the spa.

Undercover officers contacted the provided phone number and scheduled a massage appointment for 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, an undercover officer entered the spa and engaged with one of the employees, paying $140 for a 30-minute massage.

During the massage, the undercover officer inquired about engaging in sexual activity, asking, "How much to [expletive]?"

The spa employee allegedly responded that it would cost an additional $110.

The officer handed over the cash and the employee left the room briefly to retrieve condoms.

Seizing the opportunity, the undercover officer discreetly signaled for backup.

Detectives intervened, detaining Bustamante, who was seated in her vehicle in the spa's parking lot.

Detectives spoke with one of the spa employees, who revealed that she had been working there for two months under Bustamante's supervision.

The employee disclosed that half of the earnings from massages and sexual services were directly given to Bustamante.

According to the employee, Bustamante typically remained in her vehicle downstairs, managing appointments and coordinating the illicit activities of the establishment.

The employee also divulged that Bustamante would supply condoms for sexual services.

Following her arrest, Bustamante was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

During her appearance in Miami-Dade court, a judge set her bond at $14,000, which has since been posted.
