A Jupiter animal adoption clinic is working to save hundreds of animals left homeless by Hurricane Ian.

Furry Friends traveled in its new state-of-the-art bus named "Hope on Wheels" to shelters in Manatee and Pinellas counties to take some 200 pets off of their hands and move them to shelters in the Jacksonville area.

The non-profit's executive director Jason Gluck tells CBS 12 News that this problem is only going to get worse.

"There's going to be waves consistently and we're going to have to help thousands of animals. We need people's help now more than ever."

Furry Friends on Friday has been taking more shelter pets to animal rescues in the Midwest.

The plan is to relocate pets out of shelters that are in areas hit by the storm to reduce the euthanasia rates in the state. Florida ranks fourth.
