Miami Carnival Festival 2022 Kicks Off Today

Today marks the start of the 38th annual Miami Carnival Festival, with parades and concerts celebrating the many cultures of the Caribbean. Spokeswoman Sandy Dorsainvil says they had a vaccine requirement last year, so only 10-thousand attended-this year they're expecting at least 40-thousand. She says the three-day event brings millions of dollars into Miami-Dade and Broward. The majority of events will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale. The Parade of Bands and Concert will take place at the Miami Dade County Fairgrounds Sunday.
