A Florida congresswoman visited West Palm Beach today to tout the recently signed one trillion dollar Infrastructure law. Mayor Keith James says it will do wonders for water infrastructure, among other things.
"This legislation contains approximately $50 billion for climate resilience alone. That's funding that can be used to harden infrastructure and make communities more livable in the face of continued threats of climate change."
James and Representative Lois Frankel say the state will receive billions in funding for things like flood and pre-disaster mitigation projects.
They talked about projects that the money will be used towards, including fortifying a sea wall to reduce the risk of flooding during King tides.
Frankel, a Democrat who represents Congressional District 21, is a former Mayor of West Palm Beach.
