FBI: Body Found in Wyoming, Matches Gabby Petito's Description

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK -- The FBI says a body matching the description of Gabby Petito has been found

FBI says searchers found a body in the Spread Creek search area Sunday that was consistent with Petito's description. Full forensic identification has not yet ben made and the cause of death has not been determined.

Charles Jones with the FBI's Denver office began a Sunday afternoon news conference with "sincere condolences" to Petito's family. No questions were taken from reporters.

Petito's last communications with her family were in late August. Her fiance, Brian Laundrie, returned to North Port with her van, but without her, September 1st. When her parents filed a missing persons' report, the Laundrie family hired an attorney.

Police in North Port are conducting an ongoing search for Laundrie. His family says they haven't seen him since Tuesday.

North Port Police issued a statement "Saddened and heartbroken to learn that Gabby has been found deceased. Our focus from the start, along with FBI and national partners, has been to bring her home. We will continue to work with the FBI in the search for more answers.
