A friendly reminder from Florida's top elections official if you want to have a say in who claims the state's 29 electoral votes.
"If you're not already a registered voter and you want to vote in November's election," Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee says, "the deadline the register is October 5th, next week."
Wondering if your vote is important? Lee says in Florida- a 'purple' state- every vote is critical- and you don't have to go back to the 2000 election.
"In the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump won Florida by 1.2 percentage points. In the 2012 presidential election President Obama won Florida by .9 percentage points."
Secretary Lee says there are a number of convenient ways to register to vote including going online to: RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov. You can also register at your local Supervisor of Elections office, of course. You can also register at your local Drivers License and Tax Collectors offices and you can register by mail.
