Florida Airport Being Reimbursed For Money Lost Due To Trump Visits

The base operator of the Palm Beach County Park Airport is getting reimbursed for some of the money lost during visits from President Trump.

Congresswoman Lois Frankel announced Thursday that the airport received $245,000 in reimbursements for airport closures from 2017-2019.

According to Frankel's office, the airport has 25 small businesses that support 250 jobs and 200 daily flights on average.

During the temporary flight restrictions for the presidential visits, Frankel says the airport, flight schools, and other businesses lost more than $1 million in revenue.

The reimbursement money is in addition to the $79,000 the airport previously received.

The airport, also known as the Lantana Airport, is less than ten miles south of the president's Mar-a-Lago estate.
