40 FHP Employees In Self-Quarantine Over COVID-19 Concerns

More than 40 employees of the Florida Highway Patrol are self-isolating after possible exposure to COVID-19.

They include three state troopers who tested positive for the virus.

They work out of the FHP offices in Lake Worth, Miami and Panama City.

Many of the employees now self-isolating include those who came into contact with the troopers testing positive and others because they traveled to virus hotspots or were exposed to people who had.

The Florida Highway Patrol has more than 2,000 employees, including sworn officers and other staff.

Troopers have been helping to check drivers who are entering Florida from Connecticut, Louisiana, New Jersey and New York. Those folks are being ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days upon entry into our state.
