More than 300,000 Calls For COVID-19 Tests At New West Palm Beach Site

The Palm Beach County Healthcare District, which is handling appointment-setting for coronavirus tests at a new site that opens on Tuesday say more than 300,000 calls came in during the first four hours of the line being open.

Appointments at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach have already been booked through Thursday.

The governor says that not everyone who calls will automatically get an appointment. They'll have to answer several questions.

"Have you had a fever in the last 14 days? Do you have a cough, trouble breathing, sore throat? Have you had exposure to anybody who is a known COVID-19 patient?"

The district is asking Governor DeSantis for more test kids to keep up with the demand.

To make an appointment, call the Health Care District of Palm Beach County at 561-642-1000 betweeen 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
