Congressman Ted Deutch Holds Town Halls Before Congress Resumes

South Florida Congressman Ted Deutch holding town hall meetings tonight in Highland Beach and Pompano Beach to talk with constituents before heading back to work in DC. Congress resumes September 9th, but Deutch and the rest of his colleagues on the Judiciary Committee will head back 5 days earlier to discuss gun reform laws. Nancy Fry with Moms Demand Action says they're pushing for universal background checks, red flag laws, and a ban on high capacity magazines. Just last week, Deutch introduced the "Eagles Act" named for Parkland victims to expand the Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center with a greater focus on school violence prevention.

The town halls will be held from 5:15 to 6:15 at Highland Beach Town Hall and then from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center in Pompano Beach.
