The Gun Show Loophole Could Soon Be Eliminated In Broward County

It could soon be harder to buy a gun at a Broward gun show. Commissioner Steve Geller wants the County Attorney's Office to begin writing up new regulations, while a Florida judge's ruling giving counties a way to require background checks and waiting periods is appealed. Geller is trying to get support from other commissioners at today's meeting, but he won't call for a vote until the case works it way through the appeals process which could take more than a year. Its been more than 20 years since Broward required a 5-day waiting period and background checks at gun shows.
