Local Puerto Ricans Plan Peaceful Protest In Wynwood

Peaceful protests planned in Wynwood tonight by Puerto Ricans calling on Governor Ricardo Rossello to resign. Carlos Gill moved to Miami nine years ago and founded the social group "Boricuas Realengos Miami" says everyone who's away from home wants to help. Goveror Rossello is refusing to step down, but says he's not running for re-election in 2020 and resigned as head of the New Progressive Party as well. Hundreds of thousands of people are taking to the streets in Puerto Rico after leaked text messages betwen Rossello and his top aides showed him in a profanity-laced rant mocking women, gays and victims of Hurricane Maria.

Tonight's protest is being held at 7 p.m. on the El Bori food truck grounds located at 3814 NW 2nd Avenue Wynwood, Florida.
