Tensions are high in an upstate New York town after numerous residents found joker playing cards smeared with what seems to be blood and the date 10/31 in their mailboxes. According to a local media report, the incredibly unsettling 'messages' were received by several people in the town of Henrietta this week. Although authorities say that they only got two reports about the cards, residents discussing the matter on social media believe that at least six other homes were also targeted.
The creepy cards have left those who received them wondering if they are simply are a harmless prank or a harbinger of something sinister set to occur on Halloween. "I think the intent was to scare people," resident Melissa Meyer mused, "and I don't understand why this was funny." She went on to address the individuals leaving the cards with a warning of her own. "I've faced bigger demons than you, so you need to stop," she declared.
