A tragic incident unfolded in Chicago on Wednesday (August 14) when Kevin Watson, 42, was fatally shot while streaming on Facebook Live. Watson was in his car on West Madison Street in the South Austin neighborhood when a vehicle approached, and someone fired shots, as reported by the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and NBC Chicago.

The shooting occurred at 6:14 p.m. local time, moments after Watson had left a nearby liquor store and started the livestream. Alvin Jackson, a close friend, witnessed the event and told WLS that Watson was "talking to a guy" before getting into his car. Jackson recounted, "He was going to his car, then the guy followed behind him. So, the guy followed behind him and pulled the gun on him. He was trying to wrestle with the gun, and the gun went off."

Watson was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest, confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner. The chilling footage of the incident has since amassed millions of views. Watson's "Tugg" chain was found at the scene and is now part of the police investigation. As of now, no suspect information has been released, and no arrests have been made.

Watson leaves behind a seven-year-old son. The CPD continues to search for the suspect as the investigation unfolds.
