The Tampa Bay Rays (37-15) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (26-25) 6-3 on Thursday afternoon at Tropicana Field. The win gives the Rays a series win in the four game division series against Toronto.
After the Blue Jays scored in the first, Tampa Bay answered with two in the bottom of the frame to take a lead. They added one in the second and two more in the third to build n early 5-1 lead.
Randy Arozarena drove in a run in the seventh to make it 6-1 - though the Blue Jays got two back in the ninth, they were only able to pull within 6-3.
Stolen bases was the name of the game, as the Rays combined to go 7-for-7 on the night.
Zach Eflin (7-1, 3.17) allowed one earned run on six hits in seven innings of work - he walked two while striking out none. Colin Poche got the final two outs of the ninth inning for his first save of the season.
