Active Search For Missing Miami-Dade Infant Called Off

Miami, Fl. (Florida News Network)-Since late last month multiple law enforcement agencies have been searching across the state, for baby Andrew Caballeiro. Tuesday the Miami Dade Police Department, the lead agency in the investigation, said unless there's a new lead to follow, the active search for the boy has ended.

Deputies found the body of the boys father, 49 year old Ernesto Caballeiro dead of an apparent suicide, near his van parked along I-75 in Pasco County, but no sign of the child.

Police say Caballeiro killed the infants mother, grand mother, and great grand mother, at their home in southwest Miami-Dade before abducting Andrew.

A private investigator will continue working for the family at no charge, trying to determine what happened to baby Andrew.
