White House Official Says House and Senate Leaders Reached Deal On Tax Bill

A White House official tells NBC News that House and Senate leaders have reached an agreement "in principle" on their sweeping tax package.

The official says they're hoping to have a vote in the Senate first, then the House, with the bill ultimately done in Congress by next Wednesday.  The terms of the agreement are not yet clear.

Trump praised the news and promised the broken U.S. tax system will be fixed.  He argued that tax legislation will bring relief to corporations and families while provoking more jobs growth.
