Man Accidentally Shoots Self, Wife At Tennessee Church

An elderly Tennessee man and his wife are recovering after accidentally being shot during a discussion about guns in church.  During a "weapons and worship" seminar put on by a sheriff at the First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains, the man said he always carries a gun with him. After taking the gun out of his pocket, removing the clip and clearing the chamber to show those in attendance, the man reloaded the gun and put it back in his pocket.

When someone asked to see the gun, he reached into his pocket and the gun went off.  The bullet hit his hand and went through his wife's arm and abdomen, missing vital organs.
