Do You Struggle With Prayer? Help Is Here!

It used to be me.

When I was a vocational pastor I would, on occasion, find myself frustrated at my inability to stay focused and lace together some kind of coherent prayer. Of course, it was silly. Some of the best prayers ever offered go something like this, "Oh God, please help."

Not that I was trapped chasing some King James version of a lengthy prayer like the Pharisees Jesus called out in scripture. I just felt a little lost.

I came across a teaching by a Dr. Larry Lea and he broke down what Jesus said about prayer and turned into a literal guide. It changed my life because the words Jesus spoke, known today as the "Lord's Prayer" are just that, a guide. Jesus said, "Pray like this" (emphasis mine).

On this year's National Day of Prayer I decided to go back into my notes and offer a teaching on how to pray. I received a LOT of email and feedback. As a result, here it is and I hope you find it useful.

I know this much: It is biblically sound and prayer is spiritual warfare, so you may need to build yourself up a little at a time, just like a muscle in the body. Don't be surprised if you want to chow down on a big old steak or hamburger when you finish praying.

Seriously, take out a note book and give this a listen. We will all be better off if you and I pray more.
