Friday's Music on The Morning Show with Preston Scott

On Friday, I opened my talk show with music. Music to, and about, Jesus and His heavenly Father God. I can't explain it other than it was the appropriate progression out of starting each day with scripture from the Bible. It's my way of getting your heart prepared for Sunday worship, hoping to nudge you to church (if you don't go already).

But Friday was different for obvious reasons.

As I was praying about Friday's show I was in tough deliberation about what to do with the program. Thursday was all about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Friday, clearly, had to follow the story, but how far? How long?

As I was praying Thursday for direction I started going through options for the start of the program figuring that choice would inform the rest. What song should I choose? I came across CeCe Winans' "Come Jesus Come." When I listened to it I knew this would be the song. It's perfect. It speaks to our day and our hour.

When I played it, the respone from listeners was immediate and powerful. Thank you, Jesus. I have included the song below.

But it wasn't the only piece of music I chose.

I cannot, due to copyright laws and the music industry not realizing how it benefits from people playing their music, allow any copyrighted song on my show podcast. If you go back and listen to Friday's beginning and end you will not find the two songs I played, which is why I am listing them here.

The second song is from conservative (Christian) rapper Tom McDonald. Tom's music has been featured on my show a few times over the years. He wrote a song, "Charlie" in the hours following the tragedy. I thought it was the right way to end the show.

So here you go ... both songs featured on Friday's TMS w/PS.
