About Halloween ...

The actual origins of Halloween are, to some, in the eye of the beholder. It all depends on your background and what parts of history you choose to embrace. To some it's as demonic as it gets (and to be sure, there are some pretty "dark" celebrations, but the same can be said about every day of the year); to others it is a pagan, now secular, journey into stupid, old legend; and still others find it a totally inoccuous "holiday" where people dress up and kids (mostly) get copious amounts of candy.

Personally, I don't sweat the day (though I do have a story from when I was a kid), but I have always wanted a better grasp on its origins.

So with that in mind I offer the "Dusty Tome" from the creaters of "Haunted Cosmos."

Haunted Cosmos is a podcast you can find on the iHeart Radio app. When it was shared with me, I went back to the very beginning and have listened from there. I am catching up and nearing their latest season. The guys who host and produce it are Christians (one a pastor) and they live in the center of the Latter-Day-Saints world of Utah. They are not Mormon.

They are, at the very least, researchers with a lot of curiosity and who believe the things we see (and don't) need a little more thought from a Biblical perspective. That's where Halloween comes in because in something they call "The Dusty Tome" they covered the topic and, most importantly, the actual history.

You will find it interesting. You can take in the whole thing or just skip to the 9-minute mark and go from there.
