I know a little about the educational process in K-12 schools. I also know that administrators know what happens inside nearly all classrooms. They just do. But due to the teachers union, and some of them being sympathizers, extremist teachers, librarians, and counselors are left to influence their hostages...aka students.
You can pass all the laws you want. Teachers have made clear on social media they will do what they want. Superintendents have reinforced the reckless actions of some by proclaiming in email, "You do you."
All of them have forgotten who pays the freight. We do. Taxpayers.
All of this buttresses why I believe we need to put cameras in classrooms. I have two reasons and they mirror why body cameras have been demanded for police. 1) Cams protect teachers from parents when a student misbehaves and it becomes a battle of one word vs. another; 2) Cams protect parents from teachers who stray outside the lines of the curriculum. Recordings are an arbiter. How often have the police cameras exonerated the actions of the police and how often have they confirmed the accusations of a citizens? They have worked on both fronts. I call it a win-win.
Extremist political, sexual, gender, you-name-it views from teachers are out of control.
We need cameras in the classrooms.
