That doesn't make him the fastest in the world—Dutchman Mats Valk holds the world record for the fastest single solve with 5.55 seconds. But Valk only managed an average time of 8.65 seconds this year, coming second to 17-year-old Feliks Zemdegs at the championship in Las Vegas, reportsSky News. In addition to the standard 3x3 competition, other events included solving the puzzle blindfolded, one-handed, and by foot.
